My research study is what effect does program type have on consumer's ability to recognize advertised products

This was a Survey study and the above statement is my research question. If I have 6 nominal variables (program type, sex of respondent, frequency of viewing, program times, individual programs, %26amp; number of persons in the room), and one dependent variable (consumer's ability to recognize advertised and non-advertised products), how do I change my variables so they can be measured and what type of test or analysis would I use?
