What are your consumer perception of the brand Quorn and their products?

This question aims to gather market research for a university project.

Please state just a few words that enter your head.

What are your consumer perception of the brand Quorn and their products?
mycoprotein, vegetarian, green, cardboardy, fake sausages
Reply:As a vegetarian I eat a lot of Quorn and think that they're doing ok. I'm pleased to see the recent developments in the offerings, adding more products and different flavours, as this makes it much easier (it saves me thinking of what to do with the plain 'meat')

I guess I would summarise Quorn as innovative, healthy, but also quite niche. By that I mean that I know about them because I am a vegetarian, but there seems to be little or no advertising/brand awareness for them outside this sector, which may not be needed, but whenever I mention it friends/family/colleagues always say 'what is that exactly?' 'whats in it' and 'isn't it really plain?'.

I would also say, aside from the small own - brand offerings, Quorn pretty much dominated the fresh/frozen meat-free market, yet I'm always having to hunt for it in store, and often find it wedged between ham and chicken (why would I even be down that aisle?!) or in a random corner where I have to ask before I can find it!

So I guess... its good, they're heading in the right direction, but they need to raise brand awareness and increase their instore profile.
Reply:I think it is junk.
Reply:cardboard, tasteless, veggie students, strange sausages
Reply:Quorn is a veggies best friend! I love it. Very versatile.
Reply:Vegetarian meat alternatives, similar to soya, but not. Its made out of mushrooms or something. The chicken slices are good.
Reply:Nicest fungus I've ever tasted!
Reply:I tried them and they were tasty, but, given the name, I expected them to be a corn-based product, and I don't remember exactly the ingredients, but I remember clearly that it is not corn.
Reply:Niche Market, veggie society approved.

Compressed displays in supermarket - pushed into a small space.

Highly recognisable labelling

Abusing niche stranglehold by overpricing.

Low turn over, quite bland dispite the claims on the packet - you alwasy have to improve them at home with sauces etc.

helped to push the veggie choice forward but in danger of being left behind becasue of lack of imaginative products
Reply:Good value alternative to meat...many products have a good meaty texture and taste (mince for example)
Reply:I guess pansy would be the first word that sprung to mind. Meagre would also be applicable.

If it's nutritious, veggies need the protein, I guess they do good in the world.
