What is the relationship between marketing research and consumer sales growth?

through research you can better understand your customers needs, wants, perceptions, and awareness of your product or service. if you understand your customers (or potential customers) you will be able to develop a marketing plan that will improve sales, and attract new customers. you may also be able to develop new products, or improve existing products based on the research.

What is the relationship between marketing research and consumer sales growth?
There is a correlation between market research and sales growth. Whether it is positive or negative depends upon how the market research is conducted. Market research allows you to understand the who, what, when, where, and why's of your target market. The stronger the relationship between your customers wants and the solution of your offering, the better chance your customer will purchase.
Reply:To gain incremental sales, you need to produce what consumer needs and wants. To meet their wants and needs, you need to find out through research, verifying if your product can make a good sales.

What is consumer product research like, and is it something I would want to do?

It basically means you annoy the hell out of people by phone when they are trying to have dinner or you catch people in the mall when they are trying to avoid you.

Would you enjoy this? Probably not. It's usually a job of last resort. Try for something else first but if it's this or unemployment then give this a shot but keep your eyes open for something that won't be so tough on you (and others).

What is consumer product research like, and is it something I would want to do?
It's mostly a lot of talking on the phone, asking questions.

There are some research marketers who conduct in person research, food tasting, focus groups, etc.

Here in Cincinnati, Proctor and Gamble has a big building where people come to do things like smell floor cleaners in fake kitchens among other things.

Has anyone else recived a check from alpha consumer research? I think its a scam...?

I recieved a check for $2,990in the mail where I'm supposed to wire a certain amout somewhere-and then spend so much at 2 stores. I'm very skeptical and wonder if anyone else has gotten this. Also, is there anywhere you can cash a check if you don't have those funds available in your checking account. I tried to cash it today to see if the funds were really there because there's 2 legitamite banks named on the check. Anty info would be great!

Has anyone else recived a check from alpha consumer research? I think its a scam...?
I actually just got one just a few days ago and trashed it! mine was for a little over three grand tho. In your case Itll probobly bounce Just be careful. I am interested on how u make out tho. Keep us posted. Also look up ripoffreport.com

bad business bureau. And see if u find anything on them there.
Reply:Trust me that this is a scam! I was a collector for a credit union and this happens to people all the time. If you deposit it and then wire the money you are going to be responsible for the repayment to the bank or credit union once the check comes back as fraudulent. If I were you I would report the situation.
Reply:That's so obviously a scam that I'm surprised you even asked the question. Wire the money somewhere, and you'll be out that much when this 'check' bounces - and it will.
Reply:It's a scam. Tear it up right away.

Does anyone know the mystery shopper company called"Consumer research group"?

No. I heard of Gapbusters, Grassroots and a few others but not that one.

Does anyone know the mystery shopper company called"Consumer research group"?
I have not heard of "Consumer Research Group"

I suggest you go to the National Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA) http://www.mysteryshop.org , an organization of mystery shopping companies. This is the organization that you can TRUST in this field

Check out their listing of shopping assignments by country and by state from member companies. Companies are accepted as members of the association only if they have been in existence for two years and they can submit proof of business existence. Make a list of these companies and check out their requirements to be a mystery shopper.

The MSPA North America has a job board listing available mystery shoppers position

http://www.jobslinger.com/mspa/exec/sfs/...

If in doubt, double-check the company with the local Better Business Bureau http://www.bbb.org , usually under the Service Intelligence category. Find out if any complaints have been lodged with the mystery shopping company, before agreeing to do work for them.

Why is personality used in consumer research to identify distinct and sizable market segments?

There are four principal groups of variables used in marketing segmentation: Demographic, Geographic, Psycho-graphic and Behavioral.

Personality is a variable that falls within Psycho-graphics. According to Myers-Briggs type indicator there are 16 distinctive personality types. Some measurements have been done about the percentage of each personality type within the entire population (check the link below for approximate distribution of each personality type in USA).

Therefore, personality is a variable that is both distinctive and sizable.

An excellent way to segment the market.

Have you ever served as part of a Consumer Research Panel?

I'm curious as to how it works. Have you ever received an apparel product for you to wear test? For example, socks or t-shirts or bras? Can you explain a little of what was required from you?

Mostly, I would like to know:

1. How long did you have to wear the item for?

2. Did you answer a survey about your satisfaction with the item?

3. How long was the survey?

Thanks!

Have you ever served as part of a Consumer Research Panel?
1. How long did you have to wear the item for? Each product differs on time

2. Did you answer a survey about your satisfaction with the item? yes i did

3. How long was the survey? 3 pages

What types of Research Company need to understand the consumer’s needs and create products that mee?
survey research would be best....surveying in the area regarding the field of need i.e. if the survey is for buying a car, or a detergent soap, or shampoo, or a house,or a computer, air conditioner....whatever....

If the thing is of daily use like soap then you can go to the conumers' houses....if it is something expensive then you can go to the shops where that thing is being sold and where the costumers come to buy it for example for a car you can go to a car show-room.
Reply:There would be too many to list so each individual would have to find the right research company for their own needs.

What is the correlation between marketing research and consumer sales growth ?

CTU student!!!!

The correlation is knowing what the consumer wants, and providing it. Marketing research looks at trends in sales and studies all of the variables, i.e. price, color, availability, and styles, and the best way to give the customer what he or she wants. If you can give the customer what they want, they will buy, and let friends and family know where they got it. Making them happy makes the money

What is the correlation between marketing research and consumer sales growth ?
hello ctu students just happen to walk on this. hope u all doing well on your paper. I think im almost done.
Reply:Oh yes i have worked retail for 7 yrs and have seen how things can work. There wasa study done to say that most people go to the right when they walk into a store. The store i worked at moved all store brand items there because before it was brand name. the thinking was that people go look for brand names but not store brand clothing. The store brand clothing had a jump in sales while the name brand remained the same. People would come in looking for lets say a pair of pants Dockers but they saw the store brand first and it was cheaper. They would buy the store brand and the Dockers.

That is just one example. My friend has a degree in marketing and her MBA and they use marketing research in trends etc to entice people to buy thier products
Reply:I am like Malinda, and I am curious are you maybe a student at ctu online, I am. I was researching the same question. I have gathered enough research material to get started. If you really need help email me and I will be glad to help you out buddy.

Has anyone ever done business with a company called Clearance Consumer Research?

If you received a cashier's check along with a letter to be a "Mystery Shopper" I have confirmed that the issuing company will not honor the cashier's check. There is now an open investigation into the person who sent it to me, who is located in Canada. Shame that people are so dishonest.

Is the Consumer Research Corporation Legit?

I was surfing the internet the other day, looking for stores that might carry the Playstation 3. One of the first answers on Google was a site claiming that it would provide one (you) with free cameras, computers, etc, if you joined this thing called the Consumer Research Board. Now, I'm kind of skeptical of this sort of thing, so I thought it might be handy to do some research. First off, what is the C.R.B., and is it legit? Second of all, given the chance, would you join, and why. Thanks in advance.

Is the Consumer Research Corporation Legit?
Stay away from it, is a big scam, just google the name of that corporation and you will see, nobody gives anything for free, be careful.

How do I research consumer demand?

I just listed a few items for sale on ebay just to get a firm grasp of how it works. I need to know a few good free sources in which I can find consumer market data and demand on various products.

How do I research consumer demand?
You can actually do it on eBay.

When you do a search, you are given

options down the left hand side of the

page. Click the box that says (Completed listings)

This will give you a complete list of items that are

related to the key words you use in your search.

http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2...

It tells you every item that sold and how much it sold for.

The market data only goes back a few months but

it will give you a good idea of what to charge for Items.

Research connecting consumer spending with a lack of productivity?

Hi -- I'm writing a research paper and I'd like to do it on producitivity in North America.

Specifically, rising consumer spending on non-productive products/services (video games, fancy watch straps, birthday cards, golf balls) -- although measured as GDP growth -- is actually a drain on the economy. Ie. if we shifted all our production to making better golf balls, in the end, we'd only have lower golf scores, but if we shifted all of our economy to making energy, in the end we might have very cheap energy, which is more useful than lower golf scores.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? Is there an existing line of research around this, or someone involved in it?

Research connecting consumer spending with a lack of productivity?
Just about every economist would argue that we should let the market decide how to allocate production decisions, unless there is some market distortion. What distortions do you see?

Shifting our production to making energy would make energy cheaper, but then we would have to give up something. What would that be? Also, isn't energy is too cheap! Isn't there too much pollution from our consumption of energy?

How has e-business influenced consumer behavior? Behavior research tools are available for organization?

How has e-business influenced consumer behavior? What consumer behavior research tools are available for organizations that utilize e-business technologies? How does the information obtained from these tools impact marketing strategies?

How has e-business influenced consumer behavior? Behavior research tools are available for organization?
E-business makes the consumer more savvy in price and more informed about the product. You can research all the features of a product and compare to others in the click of a button. You can buy a product in the home-country of origin and save the middle man fees you pay by buying it domestically. They also become more decisive. For example, I shopped for my car online. Once I went to the dealership, I already had my mind made up - the sales staff, etc. could do very little to influence me and I was not about to "go home and think about it" etc. I shopped online, contacted the dealership, and bought the car. Market research companies research consumer behavior to determine what trends are occuring. This information is used to alter the company's e-presense to be more consumer-friendly. AND, comapanies of all kinds have to adjust their prices (to keep up with increased GLOBAL competition) and increase the knowledge of their staff to keep up with the better-educated consumers.

How can a consumer research company use their research to assist the consumers adoption of new products?

Stages of the consumer adoption process:

Awareness: The buyer becomes aware of the product.

Interest: The buyer seeks information and is receptive to learning about the product.

Evaluation: The buyer considers the product’s benefits and decides whether to try it.

Trial: The buyer examines, tests, or tries the product to determine if it meets his

or her needs.

Adoption: The buyer purchases the product and can be expected to use it again

whenever the need for this general type of product arises.

Which consumer research companies are legitimite and actually deliver prizes?

I'm interested in filling out consumer research surveys but I'm worried about all these websites that offer cash for surveys. It sounds like a scam to me. I'm wondering if anyone fills out surverys for a good company.

Which consumer research companies are legitimite and actually deliver prizes?
http://points.ugive.com/login.m?co_id=41...

This is a Harris Poll Online Rewards Site that I've been a member of for a couple of years. Its free to sign up and participate, but you don't get rewarded with cash, but with "prizes" (movies/cds of your choice, magazine subscriptions, household items, etc...) It takes a while to earn some of the bigger rewards because they email you when they have an avaliable survey, but in the end you do end up with some free stuff. And you don't even have to pay shipping costs on your items!
