As a consumer, do you have a right to know when you're the target of marketing?

Please help me out this for my research report. Thank you.

As a consumer, do you have a right to know when you're the target of marketing?
While this question is deserving of an answer, it is not needed. As consumers, everyone is categorized and labeled, and therefore are sooner or later targeted for Marketing purposes. If one is unaware of Marketing strategies used against the populace, one has been living without the Internet, TV or even a radio.

They all have these things called commercials, if you haven't noticed. Not to mention the countless surveys and advertisements in print all around the world.

So, if there is someone, somewhere that is unaware of the abundance of ads and commercial directed at specific groups and status levels of the populace; I have a question; What rock have you been hiding under?
Reply:I agree, not to say no one has the right to know they are being "targeted," but it's not necessary because EVERYTHING around us is targeting us... It would be impossible to document that level of detail...
Reply:as a consumer, you are always the target of marketing.
