What is the difference between primary and secondary research? Under what circumstances might the availability
Primary research = you do the actual research wherein you gather all the data. Primary research originates with your company. Generally, the results are proprietary and belong to you.

For example, you conduct a survey of 1000 respondents.

Secondary research = you use existing research, such as data from census bureau, statistical government office, white papers, press releases, news stories, etc.
