I recommend Honda or another of the big 4 Japanese brands. Also consider at least a 125cc or better yet, 250. These are automatic transmission and very easy to operate. You do however need to keep up with traffic. 50cc ought to be against the law except as a kids toy in the dirt. 80cc isn't much better. I rode a off brand 125cc and found it fun but lame. Top speed about 38mph. You are a victim waiting to happen. Be sure to by a helmet. Also u need a real helmet not some hardware store knock off.
Reply:If you can't find any good websites check out the scooter magazines and the magazine websites. Consumers are often biased but once you have a few models in mind Google the make and model to find forum chat about them. You might also find some good scootering websites this way. This will give you an idea of common faults/problems and recommendations.
Reply:Well I would not recommend either one of them but I would recommend the company that use to make the small motors for Honda, Look a Kymco they are the largest scooter manufacture in the world and they make a excellent 50 gets about 100+mpg and sells for maybe 2k out the door. They are not one of the cheap imports but the real deal.
