I am doing an assignment and researching on the internet for misleading advertisements, but I can not think of a single thing. Please tell me what you have purchased and was angry because the advertisement was misleading. The assignment is about consumer reactions to misleading advertisements
What products have you purchased and figured out that the advertisement was midleading? How was it misleading
Oh, there just seems to be a multitude of things that I purchase on a daily basis that makes me upset that they're just not quite what they say they are.
For example....everything on ebay. They always seem to make a product better than it actually is on there. Or, they will fail to mention a malfunction with that product.
A lot of long range walkie talkies are another perfect example. You go shopping for new walkie talkies and what do you know...you see one with a 2 mile range...better yet, you see one with 5 mile range. You're all excited, it's in your price range and it has a wonderful range. Of course, you get it home only to find out that you have to a have a special liscense to use it that long of a distance, so you're lucky to get it to go 150 ft.
Something else is certain toys. the ones advertising for "hours of fun" We all know that's crap. For example, Bubbles, I will get bored after minutes. So, they lied to me, pissed me off. It may be an entire year before I even trust thta advert of hours of fun again.....
All in all, I can't say I get up too upset. I do get dissappointed though. Like I got ripped off, or scammed. and it hurts to think that I'm gullible enough to be duped into buying something thinking it was better than it was.
Reply:mascara. the green one that supposedly bends. it totally doesn't, unless your eyelashes are hard and dont bend at all. it is also very clumpy.
Reply:I hate fast food burgers because they usually show the burger with nice leafy lettuce, long bits of onion and crispy bacon. When you get the sandwich you are faced with soggy shredded lettuce, minced onion and bacon unsuitable to feed to a starving dog.
