Who buy's Ipods and why ?

Consumer research shows that IPods not only costs more than other brnads, but they offer less features, they are more likely to breakdown within the first year, and Apple engineers are quoted on Apple's as claiming the life of an IPod is only 18 months.

Who buy's Ipods and why ?
I read all the literature a couple of years ago and took a risk with a Creative Zen, it will play music in most formats - which the IPod won't, it's got a 14 hour battery life after 2 years, and it was half the price of the relevant IPod at the time.

People are generally sheep and buy IPods cause they are more a fashion item than anything else.
Reply:I Do.

and because they are cool and i am a music freak!
Reply:I haven't got one and can't see myself getting one either.
Reply:Yeah Leetepp...WHY????
Reply:You're better buying a phone that has large storage and plays mp3's. I'm sure apple are great but the ipod doesn't cater for most peoples digital needs anymore. People want cameras, internet, vidoes, music and communications and the ipod only povides some of that. Maybe the iphone will, but it's going to be entering a very crowded market.
Reply:I don't buy ipods but was thinking about it for awhile. After hearing a few comments about them though, i'm having second thoughts!
Reply:I did because I liked having my music on one tiny little thing, and I could listen to it at work and the gym.

Oh yeah, less features than what??????
Reply:i love my ipod use it every day it rocks. with referance to pollypockets comment above sod off!!!
Reply:I don't have one.

I'm a bit backward like that, but my family have them and they seem to break all the time. Especially the Nano's.
Reply:The reason why I got an Apple iPod is because I couldn't find much else that would work on an Apple Mac. You do with Apple Mac's tend to have to splash out more to get something that you can get a lot cheaper if you use Windows. I do think that they are genially quite good, holds quite a lot of music mine being 4GB. Has games, calender, stop watch, alarm and more.
Reply:I have 2 a mini and a shuffle both were Christmas gifts and your right the mini broke down in about 14 mths. The shuffle in 16mths so if anyone would ask i wouldn't recommend them. and they bought them cause thats what I wanted for work factory life is so boring.
Reply:I have one coz my brother in law works in apple as a researcher and I got it for free!!! And I love having all my music stored on one little item!

xx
Reply:I have an imitation i-pod, from e-bay works really well and everyone says it looks like a genuine nano.
Reply:I have one because they are so much easier to use than an mp3 player. Technically, though, my parents bought it, I might have looked at cheaper ones if I had to buy it myself. Mine broke once inside the first week - but that was my fault, I dropped it. The battery only lasts for about a year and then it dies though, but they do work really well.
Reply:Your story is a total fake
