Reply:1. They are caregivers as they monitor patients health and are involved with getting them washed and changed if needed.

2. They are communicators as they adapt their communication so that patients can understand. ie, deaf, foreign, confused. They also communicate with doctors, other nurses and families.

3. unsure

4. They are a client advocate as they are a go between for the patients and doctors. ie, if a patient is concerned about something they may tell the nurse as they are not comfortable speaking to doctors and then the nurse will discuss this with the doctor for them.

5. They are counselors as if a patient is worried or upset about something they will more than likely speak to the nurse who will usually put there mind at rest. This might be something like, they are worried about being in hospital or frightened about an operation.

6. unsure

7. Nurses teach health promotion to patients. for instance if a patient mentions they are constipated the nurse will teach them what certain foods would be beneficial and what won't. If they want to give up smoking a nurse may advise how, and what benefits this will give their bodies.

8. Nurses have to manage all the tasks which have to be done day to day and prioritise certain ones over others. For instance the drug round would be a priority over bed making.

9. Nurses have to update all patients paperwork whilst they are on their ward and document everything that has happened with a patient and what drugs they have been given.

10. Nurses used evidence based practice which means they do everything according to research that has been done as to what the best method is.
