TWINKIES? Have the Lawyers won?

Someone asked if they could take a tour. It sounded good and I asked this...

Thank you for your inquiry. We are always happy to help our consumers with their research. We hope the attached will provide the information you are seeking. If you would like to speak to someone directly regarding your request, please contact us at 800-483-7253. Our office hours are 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday Thru Friday, Central Time.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us here at Interstate Bakeries Corporation with your request for a tour of the bakery in your area. We very much appreciate your interest in our company but, unfortunately, we cannot schedule factory tours to the general public. Our safety policies and insurance coverage prevent us from offering such tours.

Again, thank you for your interest in our company.

TWINKIES? Have the Lawyers won?
That is probably because of the threat that terrorists could poison the Twinkies...that sounds so funny...
Reply:What do you mean? So a private enterprise doesn't want to let the general public into their facility? the general public has no more right to be on private property than the nice folks at Interstate Bakeries have to be in your home.

There are other ways to research a company, and come on, it's TWINKIE. What, are you going to report about the high levels of saturated fat? Big deal. Everyone knows that. So what if Twinkie isn't as cool as the Jelly Belly Factory, which not only offers fun tours, but corny little hats to go with it.

As a US-based food manufactury, they are subject to all the same health and safety codes as any other. If you want to find out how many violations they've had, contact the health department. If you want to find out how many safety violations they've had, contact OSHA. If you just want to look at a bunch of Twinkies, go to your local minimart.

A private citizen is NOT entitled to access to PRIVATE property which is not his/her own.
