Why does America have the misperception that all dairy products are bad?

I just would like to know where people get their facts from because they are absolutely outrageous. I do realize dairy products are high in fat and calories but that is why the government only recommends three servings of dairy everyday. Although research has now been shown that having at least three servings of dairy can actuall help you lose weight. As the dairy princess of my county I just sometimes wonder why people are putting down the product I am promoting? I also hate that people will hear that dairy farmers are allowing bad things such as antibiotics into their milk and then people assume that all dairy farmers do this. I know that my family strives everyday to produce a wholesome and safe product for American consumers. So why when Americans hear one bad thing that they assume it is all bad?

Why does America have the misperception that all dairy products are bad?
Because people follow what is said in the media, they believe it without much proof. And media nowadays includes not only a more or less credible source in TV or newspaper, includes people who hav no idea what they are talking about and post a blog in the web.

I don't think most americans believe dairy is bad.

Dairy is great. And doesn't need to have fat. There's skim milk, low fat cheese and no fat yoghurt.

All these things have a lot of calcium and proteins, only moringa tree can compete with it, and moringa tree is not widely available...

So keep promoting them, dairy is the healthiest of foods!

PS: for the previos responder, we are omnivorous, we are suppose to eat anything edible, fruits, animals, veggies and milk too!
Reply:As a dairy producer I am faced many times with media that says our product is bad. I was only wondering where other people got there information from. I am slightly offended by the fact that people think I'm misinformed. This industry is my life, I highly doubt that I am misinformed Report Abuse

Reply:I've never heard anyone here saying all dairy is bad...so where do YOU get your facts from?
Reply:not everyone thinks like that. and you do relieze that a lot of people are lactose intolerant right??

the truth about milk is that we as a species arent SUPPOSED to consume it past infanthood. we drink it to get nutriants and antibodies from our mother. and then stop. just like every mammal out there.
Reply:Talk about your misinformation. The only people I hear speak badly of diary products are vegans. Yes, the USDA only "recommends" three servings a day, but its just that. Its a recommendation.
Reply:I think you may have a misperception of Americans. Stop listening to shrill vegan tripe.
Reply:Dear Dairy Princess, (hehe)

Not ALL Americans think that dairy is bad for you. Where are you getting you're information? From the dietary guidelines that the government puts out? That's laughable, everyone knows the U.S. government is run by political parties that are purchased by lobbyists. Don't trust the government.
Reply:they're probably all vegans. vegans don't eat any meat or anything with animal product in it....aka they only eat things that grow
