I just wantto put out there that if you buy a foreign car you are un-American and non-patriotic.?

You heard it right. Regardless of your motivation for buying a foreign car your doing so makes you un-American and 100% non-patriotic. Foreign cars are no better than American cars and haven't been for years, especially not now. It is all public opinion and perception, and the incredibly BIASED test results of Consumer Reports. They've been in the pocket foreign car manufacturers for over 20 years, but you'll never hear them say that. You'd actually have to do some thinking and research of your own to find that out. They're phony's and liars. Consumer Reports does America a great disservice, and so does anyone that follows their advice.

So therer you have it. If you buy foreign, you might as well be a communist, because you are as subversive, un-American, and non-patriotic as Fidel Castro and Hillary Clinton. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You deserve no respect or good-will. I abhor, and have complete disdain for you.

I just wantto put out there that if you buy a foreign car you are un-American and non-patriotic.?
I am do not buy because of patriotism. I buy them because they are as good as any other, repairs are cheaper, I get a good deal every time. I like to buy some the US produce (even though, some components are made overseas).

I grew up with US build cars. I had a Honda Prelude and gave me an experience that I will NOT buy a Honda again.

US Cars came a long way and they are really good. The darkest years of them where in the 70s and 80s. Those years are long gone.

Most of the GM cars are Europeans by nature. The Chevy Cobalt was designed by Opel in Germany, the GTO was a Holden Monaro in Australia, the Saab is an Opel with a Swedish drivetrain (Saab drivers, you are not getting a real Swedish car) The New Theta platform is Aussie in design. The Ford Mustang was a POS in the 70s until they came out with the European Ford Sierra / Scorpio and rebadge the car as Mustang SVO (Merkur X4Ti) and later the 5.0 (for a moment the Mazda 626 was consider as the new Mustang for the 90s if gas prices kept climbing). So if you want a Mazda, try buying a Ford, you get the same deal :)) On GMs you are getting an Opel ;-)
Reply:Let me remind you that almost 90% of american cars, use parts that are made by Japan, Mexico, Taiwan, Malaysia, etc.

I was always 100% american. I bought Chevy, GMC, Ford, Dodge, and I was completely unhappy with the quality on every one of them. They were not reliable at all. Dodge being the absolute worst.

So I stepped over and bought a Nissan Titan. Best vehicle I have every owned.

Americans did it to themselves when we produced crappy products starting in the late 70's.
Reply:alright buddy.and you think the other stuff you use on a regular basis is all american made? get real. and get a life. the u.s. is becoming more and more corrupt because of narrow minded people like you.
Reply:Somehow, cars have different standing than cameras or DVD players.

Of the big 3, GM, Ford and Chrysler. GM is probably the least incompetent.

Ford had the Pinto, the Escort and the Taurus. I bought an '87 Escort in '96. It was less than 10 years old. When it had a mechanical problem, I couldn't find one mechanic who thought the cost of repairs was justified compared with the market value.

At the time, the Escort was my NEW car.

Here's my fleet. I own 5 cars which are driven by 4 drivers, myself, my wife, my son and my daughter.

'86 Toyota MR2. Paid $550 6 years ago. 37mpg. Daily usage by my son.

'88 BMW 735i. Bought on eBay for $2400 3 years ago. Nice car but not fuel efficient.

I bought to replace my '82 BMW 733i which I bought for $600.

'88 Volvo 240 wagon. My daughter drives it. Just passed test-only smog in California. She drives it daily.

'91 Toyota Tercel. I just replaced the head gasket. It was worth fixing.

'91 Honda Accord wagon. That's my daily driver. In the current condition it could easily run 3 to 5 more years.

My yearly maintenance bill for 5 cars is less than $1000.

Back to my tale of woe about American cars. A family friend bought a new Chrysler or Dodge minivan. The transmission failed. They were stranded on the side of the freeway.

They now drive a Toyota minivan.

Live and learn.

Subversive? For decades the only thing sustaining the democratic party was the labor unions, especially the autoworkers.

Where do you think people like Bill Clinton get their votes?
Reply:That is one theory
Reply:dude, get a life. who cares?
Reply:Telling people what to think and buy is about as Un-American as you can get as well.
Reply:that American car you so want people to buy is made with parts made in other country's
Reply:toyota has a huge plant in the US.. dont get me wrong i am an american car driver, but toyota has a pland here... and us car makers messed up in the 70's and 80's and even some in the 90's cuttign corners to save money becuz they thought they owned the market... they are quality now becuz they have to be becuz people will buy other stuff and they will fall away if they didnt step up, but its a long road to redemption i dont blame people for not buying a chevy or ford product.. burn me once shame on you burn me twice shame on me.. Chevy even made an ad campaign about how they are constructing quality now and they used the slogan i did.. they said in there ad its a long road to redemption... so they know too and really toyta has a huge plant in the us giving us lots of jobs while 80% of chevy is made in canada and europe where as 60% of the toyotas made here are from here...
Reply:American cars suck.
Reply:Okay. Reminds me, I'm gonna take a drive in my German car today.
Reply:FYI / Most foreign made cars have anywhere from 40 to 70% American content in thier assemby and manufactured components.

Whereas American Auto companies are buying very high percentages of thier parts from overseas tocontrol the ever increasing cost of manufacturing %26amp; materials. Therefore buying an american made vehicle, in many cases, you are supporting china %26amp; indian manufacturing.

Maybe you should do your homework.
Reply:Can you please define American car? is it a Toyota Camry with 92% American made content or Ford Mustang, Chrysler 300 etc which fail to meet 75% US content, perhaps Ford Fusion? which is made on a Mazda 6 platform in Mexico. Are Chevys, Korean re badged small cars American to you? How about the new Camaro, very American right?, except it will be made in Canada.
Reply:News flash: Most of buy foreign products, whether we are aware of it, or not. Take a look around your house. Is EVERYTHING you own made in the U.S.? All your electronics and decor? The food you eat? The clothes on your back? Does that also make you subversive, un-American, and non-patriotic?
